Modern day enterprise environment in both public and private sectors and ease of use and availability of technology dictates that all enterprises have an automated financial system that easily provides financial information to help make prudent operational decisions. Financial System development consists of analysis, recommendation, design, development, implementation, training, documentation and maintenance support. Just like any other system development project, the process begins with the analysis and understanding of the internal controls of the financial environment of the enterprise, documenting the internal controls, designing an accounting system based on the internal controls, identifying software (COTS, wherever possible), implementing the system, documenting operating procedures of the enterprise personnel, and training both the operators and the end users.
